Course Content:

Our classes work toward building a puppy’s confidence and developing new environmental pictures which they will carry for the rest of their lives. Each course looks to develop puppies in the following areas:

  • Exposure to surfaces
  • Interactions with other puppies and people
  • Understanding basic obedience (hand targeting, sit, drop, roll, stay)
  • Mental enrichment activities

Of course, training a puppy relies on their owner. Our courses also focus on providing the necessary information to owners to develop their puppy and provide ongoing care. The course provides owners with information on the following areas:

  • Health care
  • Nutrition and feeding
  • Training foundations
  • Positive reinforcement training
  • Teaching hand targeting, sit, drop, roll and stay
  • Toilet training
  • Mental enrichment
  • Crate training
  • Dog body language

Equipment:

We require puppies to be wearing a flat collar or training harness and be on lead during training sessions except where instructed, typically during play time.

Participants:

During training sessions, we encourage direct family members to attend and we welcome a diverse group of people for the benefit of the puppies. We ask that any children under the age of 13 be supervised by an accompanying adult and limit group sizes to 4 people per puppy due to the size of the training area.
